Team USA Wins Pickleball World Cup at The Fort

The 2025 Pickleball World Cup, held at The Fort in Fort Lauderdale from October 28 to November 2, drew over 25,000 fans and featured teams from 68 nations — up from 32 last year and 14 at the inaugural 2023 event in Lima, Peru.

Players and organizers called the atmosphere “electric,” “inclusive,” and “magical.” The U.S. dominated, sweeping all three divisions — pros, seniors (50+), and juniors (16 and under). Former Division I athletes like Macy Zambrano and Kyle Yates led Team USA to gold.

Venue CEO Brad Tuckman and others praised the energy, though it got intense enough that matches had to be relocated to keep fans safe. Organizers credited the event’s capped skill level (5.5 and below) for making it more globally accessible.

Looking ahead, director Tammy Goldfisher said the 2026 host city will be announced by year’s end, with The Fort a strong contender to host again. She called the event “the Wimbledon of pickleball.”
