A World-Class Pickleball Destination with a Community Heart
Fort Lauderdale’s newest sports and social hub, The Fort, is redefining the pickleball experience. Located at Snyder Park near the airport, this $30 million, 10-acre complex boasts 43 courts—including 14 covered—plus a bar, restaurant, pro shop, and even the world’s first dedicated pickleball stadium. With 650 members already, The Fort welcomes everyone from first-timers to seasoned pros, offering free introductory clinics, paddle rentals, and a thoughtfully designed skill-rating system to ensure competitive yet welcoming play. Beyond pickleball, The Fort promises a "third place" for residents and visitors, featuring bocce, beach tennis, kayaking, music events, and more.
Building More Than a Sports Facility: A Community Gathering Space
Brad Tuckman, CEO and co-founder of The Fort, envisions it as much more than a premier pickleball facility—it’s a modern-day community center. The Fort already serves as the headquarters for the Association of Pickleball Players (APP) and has hosted major tournaments like the APP Fort Lauderdale Open. With its proximity to major travel hubs, expansive amenities, and daily events, The Fort aims to be a dynamic social destination for South Florida residents and tourists alike. As Tuckman puts it, “We wanted to be the Cheers of pickleball”—a place where everyone feels welcome and connected.
